We are praying for David's grandmother and for you as you prepare to get a driver's license. Our daughter (15)has her permit and will soon be trying for a license. I understand all the exact paperwork that is needed and the stress from learning to drive. Keep us posted on the progress.

It's good for you to know what Dave will go through in your country. Then you will be able to be a big help and comfort to him, because you will know how he feels. :)

The reason why there has been little if any progress in the church of Japan is for any one to guess, but in the end, if being completely hosnest, we would all come to the same conclusion - I'm not sure. I'm not sure why dedicated preachers and hundrends of missionaries didn't do the trick. I'm not sure why the message of the gospel in it of itself hasn't cried out to the people. But mostly, I'm not sure why a people so lost, so sad, and so desolute have not turned to the one true answer, Jesus Christ.

But my belief is this. For if I do not have hope for the people, if I do not believe that a mass salvation is possible, why wouldn't I just choose to live my life in a country where believing in what I believed to be true would be as easy as turning on the tv to my favorite televangelist? Japan needs the Power of Jesus Christ as manifested in His Holy Spirit. Then, would the middle aged business man be able to deny his wife's religion any longer if he was staring her in her face, finally healed of her life long desease? Would the school principal or community organizer deny His power any longer if the suicide rate in the school dropped to zero? and if bullying was stopped not through tattle tailing but by Christ's authority spoken through a child's mouth? Would the doctor dare not go to the House of the Living God if saw his "failure" from moments ago raising from the dead? How Great is our God! And how Awesome His Glory!!! His is Great and greatly to be praised! But we treat him as if He were an foriegn invador and explane Him with an apology!

I do not predend to be unsympathetic to the dificulties of preaching the gospel in Japan or unaware of the obsticals faced daily by the amazing men and women of God who have dedicated their lives to His people. I am simply stating that "strategies" and "tactics" are not working. This is NOT a news flash to any one who has spent any amount of time over there. So now, let us pray. Let us pray that the Power of the Holy Spirit that created the Church from a band of people who new nothing more than what Jesus has shown us will consume us. Let us pray that we will be filled with the Spirit that commands the physical and spiritual to allign with His Kingdom. That we would be used not for our glory, but for His eternal Purpose. The people of Japan are HIS people. He created them! He has called them! But without a preacher how will they hear? Without an intercessor, how will they know? Oh, how the workers are few... But where there are two or three gathered in My Name, there I Am. Two or three! For in the latter days, I will pour out my spirit on all man kind. To every man and every women. And behold, for these are the latter days.

Now, is there any one who would disagree that THIS, or rather HE and HIS POWER is what we need? Father, fill me. Empty me first of all my ambitions and preconceived notions of how it is you would like me to minister in your country of Japan and then fill me with your Purpose. Let me not even so much as move without the indwelling of your Holy Spirit. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Come, so that I can freely give what I have freely recieved.
